I got to fish a customer fromthe Houston area and his 2 son's yesterday. The youngest has grown up and I have to look up at him, guess I am getting old, seems like last year he was 10 and now he is in high school. We managed to get to the bay for a few hours before the wind blew us off and we caught some nice trout. The youngest son hooked up a big red fish and got him up near the boat several times before he made one last run and broke us off, this was the largest red I have seen in many years. I know it broke his heart to loose it but he did everything he could to land it, I had to cut off 5' of line frayed before I could retie. The red's eluded us as we worked several areas of the flats. Thanks guys for a great day on the water and let's do it again soon.

I had a great day with a guy, his 20 year old son, and dad in law. For guys who said they didn't fish they had a great box of trout (25 in all) and don't alway believe what they tell you especially about not being able to fish. The wind was out of the north and dry and hot, so you have to think everything in reverse to where we usually fish to get on your spots, The wind kept switching from NNW to N, off and on all day. The bite was tough and scattered, but they hung in there and had a nice box of fish to take home with them. Thanks guys for a great time and look forward to having you back again.

A couple of friends and I spent the morning chasing king fish off the jetty, it has been several years since we had a chance to do this together. Fishing was a little slow, but we had a great time togather, fishing , relaxing, and enjoying each other company. Thanks for a great morning and let's not wait so long to do it again.

Got a day off today so I took my bride out fishing, it has been a couple of years since we had fished for kings, but she had not forgotten how to work them. We got to see several smaller tarpon (30 -50# ) rolling, but were not able to get them to take a bait. Weather was super and seas were flat to make for a great morning on the water.

I had a great time with a coulpe from Kennedy today. I asked them what they wanted to catch: reds, trout, or king fish? They had never cauht a king so off we go. First hookup, Robbie fought for a long time and after a good battle we brought in her first king 40# +. We worked back and forth and got the other 3 tor their limit and hooked up something that spooled us of 390 yards of line in 30 seconds to let us know that there are bigger fish out there.
Thanks folks for a great day and look forward to having you back again soon

Very seldon do I take a trip the day they call, especially a afternoon trip, but these guys seem ok on the phone, so I said sure come on down. It was a dad and grown son,the son was playing in golf tournement in Victoria and didn't make the cut and they were great guys and sure was glad he missed the cut. We went to the jetty's first and got our 4 kingfish, since they would not fit in the cooler with the lid shut, we came back cleaned them and ice them down, and went red fishing. First stop the son hooks up a nice 28 1/2'' red. We managed a nice flounder out of the same hole, but couldn't get any reds. These guy are great fisherman so we headed to the flats and drifted and caught a couple more keeper reds and several undersized reds and a few dink trout. Guys thanks for a great afternoon on the water and look forward to having you back again soon.

I had the pleasure of fishing 2 guys with Laredo Energy in the CFF (Cystic Fibrosious Foundation) Cast for the Cure.
Please take a minute and check them out, this disease needs your help. We had a great 2 days, catching and releasing trout and redfish. Erik caught a 39 1/2 '' red Friday on gulp, but the bulls would not bite Saturday, we were hoping for at least 2. Erik won largest redfish of tournament, Kenneth won the most releases on trout. Way to go guys! We are looking forward to doing better next year. Thanks for a great time.

Tropical Storm Don came in down south and brought us about a foot of high tide, not a drop of rain and nothing else. The morning winds were fairly light, too much to get outside so we headed to the flats where we caught fish yesterday. The water was clearer than yesterday, since the wind was 25 mph less. We didn't get there till about 11 am yesterday, but today we got to watch the sun come up while drifting, what a beautiful sight. The early bite was slow, we managed a few dink trout and some keeper sand trout before 10 am, then after 10 the bite picked up, we managed a few nice trout, with 1 lady getting her largest to date a 23 1/2'' beauty. About noon the bite slowed or really stopped so we decided to work some of the pot holes near shallow water with some fresh skip jack we caught. First fish was a 29 3/4'' red, also the largest for this lady as well. We picked up 4 more before deciding to go get a burger. Thanks folks for a great day and look forward to doing it again soon.

We had the clearest skies we have had all summer, as Tropical Storm Don approaches, wish I had taken pictures. We headed to Corpus Bay before the sun was up, as we cleared Ingleside on the Bay, the lights of downtown Corpus all the way to the NAS Corpus were clear and visible with a light NNW wind. This was the first time in 10 days or so we could get out there and the tides were just coming in from the storm, as we left the dock, tides were low as normal. Everything looked like it would work, but the fish didn't corporate. After several stops we only boxed 4 keeper trout, and a boat load of gafftop, to small to clean, but fun to catch. The wind was steadily picking up so we opted to move back to calm waters. We started drifting the flats with piggies and gulp and had success. Each drift we managed 1-4 fish, except the last drift, hoping for the last red, one guys hooks up a nice fish close to the boat and as it come up I get really excited, it is not a red, but a 25'' trout, his largest. What a way to end a great day fishing. Thanks guys for a great time and look forward to doing it again tomorrow.
