I had the pleasure of fishing the winner of a fishing trip from Chupacabra Outdoors, Billy Bob and Tammy from the Kerrville area. The day broke clear and calm, you couldn't ask for nicer weather, but could want a little more wind. Tammy started the day off right with a nice keeper red on the first stop. We worked the flats most of the morning looking for some more keeper reds, and things didn't go as good as I would have liked, but we managed 2 nice reds and 2 nice flounder. Another guide called about noon and said he was on some bull drum, so we headed out to find them. The drum would surface for a minute and were just cruising along, we managed to hook 2 but both threw the hook on us. This was Billy Bob and Tammy's first time to site cast to big fish and we had a ball. If you have not experienced sight casting to big fish you are in for a surprise, most people will get the same thing as buck fever, especially when the fish are close to you. Billy Bob and Tammy did a great job casting to the fish.
Thanks to David and Chupacabra Outdoors; with special thanks to Billy Bob and Tammy for making this a super good day on the water.

Getting to spend a day with some new friends from north of Houston and watching her catch her first keeper red just made my day. We had a slow bite starting off this morning, but after a few moves, we got in to some flounder, to me that is a bonus fish, since we were not fishing for them. We even caught and landed a 28 - 30'' black tip. But we were looking for reds and trout, so we moved on. Next stop produced some undersized trout; the water was gin clear and that makes for a great drift. Sometimes it is hard for even me to keep my mind on fishing as sou drift along and are able to see everything in the water. We keep moving until we found some reds, not as many as I hoped for, but they had more than enough for several meals. Thanks folks for a great day on the water and look forward to having you back again.

Fishing is always fun, but when you get a group of friends out to have a good time, it makes it better.Today I fished three guys who have been friends for many years , and luck would be on our side for a little while. First stop we got a good hard head bite going and I was about to move on when the reds started biting. We picked up 5 in about 1 hour, moved up a little and picked up another one, and then someone turned off the switch, they shut off. Made several stops and couldn't find them. Moved to a different area nothing. Finally,we head to a flat that has been producing for me since May, we drifted throwing plastics and spoons. Not long after we started drifting, one of the guys hooks up a nice red, after about 10 minutes the red gets behind the boat and is still full of energy and somehow breaks us off, well thats fishing. We picked up lots of small speckled trout and a couple of nice sand trout but never could get the other 3 reds we needed. Thanks guys for a great day on the water and look forward to having more with you. See you soon.

I had a cancellation for today, so I took the bride out for a few hours fishing. We started working the flats with plastics, spoons, and topwaters. With little wind the drifts were slow, but we hit a spot that you could catch an undersized trout on silver spoons every cast, a friend and his wife called and we went back and met them and all 4 of us headed back out. We worked a spot that usually holds trout but the water was off colored and only managed a couple of small trout. So we headed to a different area that I hadn't fished much in a while. The tide was falling hard so we set up on the drop from shallow to 3' with some nice sand pockets. The girls landed 6 keeper reds, we guys caught 2 reds, 1 under sized red, and we lost 8 in 2 hours, being lunch time we decided to head home and call it a great day.

We ( another guide and I ) fished a group of guys for a bachelor party today.
The guys were from all over and a hoot to fish with. The weather was good and we started fishing deep water reefs and found one here and one there, but just couldn't get a steady bite going. After many stops and lots of work we ended up with a nice mess of fish. Good luck on the upcoming marriage and look forward to having you back again soon. (Groom is in the wild shirt!)

I had the pleasure of fishing 4 guys today, but with a north wind 18-25 mph and they wanted to trout fish, we had a tough day. We found some nice colored water and found lots of udersized trout. Made several stops working the drops, 3-5' flats, grass flats, sand pockets, but couldn't get a keeper trout. We did manage a nice 25'' red and that was the first red the man had caught and he was excited. Thanks guys for hanging in there working for those trout today. Look forward to having you back soon.

I had the pleasure of fishing 3 guys from Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana today. The west wind was low and we worked deep water drops and structure. The first 3 baits that hit the water got hookups and 2 of the 3 went in the cooler, great news, but the bite faided fast. We caught several undersized trout, but the keepers were few and far between. We only had 4 hours to be fish, this is what I would call run and gun fishing! We did end up with 9 speckled trout and a sand trout. Thanks guys for a great morning on the water and look forward to having you back again next year.

I had the great pleasure of fishing 2 couples from the Brownwood Tx area today and we had a ball. Competition between husbands and wives was on. I won't say who won, but they all caught fish and had a geat time. The morning was a little slow, but from noon on we got a good bite drifting the flats.
Thanks folks for a great day on the water and look forward to having you back again.

I had the pleasure of fishing a guy from the Houston area today and we had a great day. The bite was a little slow but he managed to get the largest redfish of his life today and some more nice reds. We worked lots of water trying to get a bite going, but the tide was flat for hours, that is what I blame the lack of bites on anyway. Thanks for hanging in there and making it a great day on the water, and look forward to getting to fish your son in a year or so.  I love to see the reaction of kids getting hooked up on a nice fish.

I had the pleasure of fishing a mother / daughter combo today and it was the daughters birthday. The weather was a little windy so we had to work the proctected areas, the fishing was not fast and furious, but we managed one nice trout and some other keepers and a couple of reds this morning. Happy bithday young lady and I don't know of any better birthday present a person could get than a fishing trip.
Thanks for a great morning on the water with you girls and look forward to doing it again.
