We always complain about the wind, and it has blown all spring, but today I had a family from Liberty Hills and their 3 kids (great kids), and the wind quit. Boy did it get hot. We would fish a while and take a ride to cool off and fish some more and take a ride to cool off. The day was a really tough day for us catching keeper fish, but we did keep 3 nice redfish and a speckled trout. We caught several undersized redfish to help keep the kids interested. The water was way down from the last few days, I guess since we had a north wind blowing yesterday. The wind started out from the west, and shifted to the south south west mid day. Where I had been on red fish lately, the first few stops didn't produce. Finally got a bite started, and then it quit when the wind died.
But it was a great day on the water and look forward to having all of you back again.

Man do these kids grow up quickly! I have fished a guy and his 2 daughters for the 3 or 4th year in a row. The girls are growing up so fast, and they are doing a great job of fishing, they have improved every year. They went to a high school graduation the night before and the 4:30 am wake up caught up with them pretty quick. But they were troopers, they would take a break and eat something and get back to fishing. The wind was a little high to get out into open water, so we drifted the flats and drops offs and they picked up some nice trout. The last hour we made a stop for redfish but couldn't get a keeper but did manage a couple of undersized redfish.
Dad and girls thanks for a great day on the water and look forward to doing it again next yaar.

I had the pleasure to fish a couple of guys, 1 from Houston and the other from Victoria. We fished the deeper water structure and shell since the wind was down this morning. We did good but the bite died and the wind was picking up so we moved back to the flats and picked up some nice fish drifting the flats. Most of the good fish for the last few days have been in stained water, but today the fish came out of the clear water, but we did catch 1 in stained water. Goes to show you; you never know for sure what or where the fish are.
Thanks guys for a great day on the water and look forward to doing it again.

I had the pleasure of fishing a guy from Corpus and his son from San Antonio and a friend from San Antonio.
The wind was down from what we have been having, not calm but managable. First stop we couldn't get a bite going, but did catch 1 or 2 keepers.  Next stop was a slow start but we did get a good bite going. We headed back to the dock by 11 with 4 fish short of the limit but all were solid fish, most in upper teens to the biggest at 25 1/4''. All the fish were solid and quality fish.
Thanks guys for a great day and look forward to next months trip.

Seems like we never get to spend enough time with the kids, between our schedules and theirs, but this morning I got a chance to spend a few hours fishing the youngest son and we had a great time. First spot we hit, I had been catching trout, good solid fish a few days earlier, but we got a dink and one keeper. Second stop, one keeper, so we moved again and this time it paid off. He got 5 nice trout and mid slot redfish, before we had to head in. Sure wished we could have spent more time out there.
Thanks for a great time on the water Josh.

The morning started with some wind and predictions of wind advisories by 10 am of 40 + mph winds, so we head north and tried drifting for trout.  I love it when a plan works, the first bait in the water and a nice 20'' trout before the next bait hit the water. That got everyone excited. We worked several drifts until the wind picked up and boxed some nice speckled trout. We decided to head back south and try our luck for redfish. Well plan B was not as fast and productive as plan A, but after several stops we picked up some nice reds.
Guys, thanks for a great day on the water and look to see you back soon.

I have the best job in the world, I had the pleasure of fishing 4 guys from the north eastern states who met in college and still hang out togather. They all came to Texas for a mudbug (crawfish) boil put on in Rockport by a guy that they work with who grew up here. Listening to their stories and adventures, they were a crazy bunch and still are.
Fishing was a little tough, but we managed to catch enough redfish to feed all of them on Sunday.
Thanks guys for a great day and look forward to doing this every Memorial Weekend each year.

I had a great time with a couple new to Texas and his brother from Ohio. Fishing was a little tough today as the wind was up so we worked the flats that had been producing fish yesterday and for a couple of weeks. We managed to get some nice keeper redfish (reds) and lots of undersized reds. This was the first time in months that we caught rats and the bite was really odd, the rats (undersized red fish) would knock down the rod, but the big redfish would eat it and lay there until you checked the bait.
Folks thanks for a great day on the water and look forward to having you back again.

What a great day it was on the water today. I fished a couple from San Antonio and brother in law and nephew from Colorado, on their first time to south Texas. We started working grass lines for trout, first stop didn't produce, so we kept moving around. 2nd stop we found some undersized, but no steady bite. With the wind light from the south east we tried torpedo corks and drifted the flats producing some trout. The wind was predicted to get up to 15, but we headed to deep water reefs and structure, we managed a few more trout and nice gafftop, and a 30 1/2'' black drum to make one persons day. We kept moving, but never did get a good bite going so we headed to the flats in search of redfish. We picked up some nice reds, with the young man catching a nice red for a welcome to Texas fishing.
Thanks folks for a great day on the water and look forward to having you back again.

I had a great day with a young couple from Haskell, Texas today. She started it off in great time by catching a nice trout on the first cast and third cast as he and I watched. We worked the drops from deep water to flats. We got a variety of fish, but couldn't get the trout bite going, so we moved around trying to find it. The wind was too high to go to Corpus Christi Bay so I opted to try Aransas Bay. We made several stops and managed a few trout for our work. We moved back to the area where I had been fishing for 2 weeks and found fish, but the spring bull tides are in today, we did find our redfish in a shallow sand pocket.
Thanks folks for a great day and look forward to seeing you back again soon.
