I had the pleasure of fishing a guy from The Woodlands and his 6 year old son today.
We had a ball. Ethan (the son) did a great job of fighting reds and helping me keep the lines baited. We had to make several stops before we got our last 4 reds and then we decided to throw some top waters for trout and dad got his first keeper trout on top waters. Thanks guys for a great day on the water and look forward to having you back again.

I had the pleasure of fishing a dad and his youngest son from Oklahoma this afternoon, the son had not fished saltwater before. The wind was down for a couple of hours so we worked some deep water for trout before the wind ran us off. We were able to get 1 nice speckled trout, a couple of nice sand trout, and a 6-7# gafftop. So we headed back to the flats in search of reds. We caught some nice reds and the son (he is a grown man) got to catch some nice reds and was surprised at the fight. He caught and released his first tagger red, a 29''. Dad caught his largest trout a nice 26 1/2'' that we photo and released to live again.
Thanks guys for a great afternoon and look forward to having you back again.

I had the pleasure of fishing a guy from Sugarland and one from North Carolina today. We had lots of small reds, more than I have seen in months. But they were troopers and hung in there and got 4 nice keeper reds and a nice trout. We worked areas that had been producing some large slot reds, but just couldn't get them to eat. Thanks guys for a great morning on the water and hope you have a safe trip home and look forward to having you back again.

I had the pleasure of fishing a group from North Carolina, South Carolina, and Nebraska today. The weatherman predicted low winds and as usual he was wrong, we started out in the flats working drop offs for trout and only got dinks, so we tried working Aransas Bay but a norther blew in and we decided to head back inside which ended up being the best for everyone. After a short business break, cell phones don't work good in high winds, they work but the people on the other end have a problem hearing us. The first stop was on. Three baits in the water and before I got the TH one out we had one on. Landed a nice 28'' red, Kate's first red, what a way to start a saltwater trip. Next set of bait, we get a triple hook up. Well things didn't work out as good as planned, we only were able to land 1 of them, another upper slot fish. After 8 fish landed, check with another boat, who had people of the same company on it and they were not catching anything and here they came, and luck was on our side, the bite stayed on. They caught 9 keepers and 3 tagged reds out of the same area. After our bite slowed down, we moved a little way and finished up with 18 slots and a over sized red, but only kept 5 fish.
Thanks folks for a great day on the water and look forward to having you back again.

I had the pleasure of spending the day with a couple from Fort Smith, Arkansas today. We planned to fish Monday, but with the lighting, thunder, and rain, we decided to wait until today. The morning started out over cast and cool, and higher than normal tides. After a couple of miles running down the ICW and not finding any bait, we headed into the flats and luck was on our side. The first stop was not fast and furious, but good. The second fish was her first tagged red, a 32''+. A couple of fish latter she landed a nice 22''+ trout. We did have to move to get the last 2 fish, but after all the thunder and lighting yesterday, I was sure glad the fish were hungry and eating. We tried several spots for trout, but all we managed were some under sized one and skip jacks to entertain us. Thanks folks for a great day on the water and look forward to having you back again soon.

I had the pleasure of fishing a couple from north of Houston today and they did a great job bringing in the fish. We started out with trout, and he landed a nice 37'' black drum, and she hook up a mid 40'' red that gave her a heck of a fight. He stayed on top most of the time and I managed to get him in the net 2 times, but he would not fit and was too green to tail grab him, he managed to break off, but she did a wonderful job fighting him. After getting all our trout, we headed out looking for the reds. The first 3 or 4 stops we had 1 pick up and bait and drop it, so we moved to another area and worked the pot holes finding all our reds. Thanks folks for a great day on the water and look forward to having you back this fall if not sooner.

I had the pleasure of fishing 2 dads and their 3 boys today, we fished several times in the past and it is great to see the boys as they grow up and fishing/ catching improves. We started out where I had caught reds the day before, but it looked like a parking lot, boats everywhere, so we moved and tried a few different areas. We had to make a few stops before we got a bite going, but it was a weird bite, the bite has been soft lately, but today they would hit and run and what normally would be a good hook set, after a good fight they would just spit the bait out. We had this happen too many times, but there was nothing we could do about it. After several more stops we picked up a few more nice reds and a couple of small reds, and a nice keeper flounder to make everyone happy and plenty of fish for Easter Sunday. Thanks guys for a great day on the water and look forward to having you back again.

I had the pleasure of fishing a boat load of guys today, Dad, granddad, the son( who is getting married Saturday), and some of his buddies. Guys I had a great time with you and look forward to having you back again and wish you the best on your marriage. I just couldn't get the reds to bite early, so after a few stops we went over and tried our hand at trout. They caught several small trout, granddad who told me he never catches fish, caught a nice keeper. I have not seen as many skip jacks (lady fish) as we caught, they were everywhere. This is a good sign, and the guys had a ball catching them. I have always been told when they come in the trout fishing will be good, so I hope it means another great trout fishing year. We went back late and fished for some reds, and managed few and lost one nice one but thats fishing.
Thanks guys for a great day on the water.

What a day! The weather was wonderful, light to no breeze, overcast, 70 - 85 degrees and the best part was the fish were hungry. You don't get days like this very often, when everything comes together. We started out trout fishing and got our 2 limits and over 100 undersized trout keep us busy. So we came back to the flats to see if we could find the reds, 1St stop we picked up a nice flounder, and then the hard heads moved in. After looking for a while we found what looked good and it was. We lost 3 nice reds, but got our limit of 6 and the last fish had our hook and leader in it. Thanks folks for a great day on the water and look forward to having you back again soon.

I had the great pleasure of spending the day with a couple from Denison area and their son from Pleasanton. The first drift of the day we boxed 2 nice trout and had 5 undersized trout. After yesterday I thought today was the day they were hungry. But a few drifts later we had only boxed a couple more keepers and the bite had slowed down. We made a several moves and the big excitement was having a porpoise bite all but the head off a nice trout, they can really take out some line, but luckily the line broke and he let go of the trout head and we were able to get the cork back. Finally found a bite, not fast but we ended up with 28 nice trout for the day. Only 2 short of their 3 limits and no telling how many short fish they caught but a lot. Folks thanks for a great day on the water and look forward to having you back again soon.
