What a great day. I fished a dad and his 11 year old son and his sons best friend from the Austin area, the wind was up early and didn’t calm down until way after day light, so we started out at Mud Island and caught a couple of keeper trout, but the bite was slow. After the wind layed down we ran out to deep water reefs in Corpus Christi Bay and the boys loaded up on trout, sand trout, a nice gafftop, and even 29” black tip (I think that made his day). We ran through 12 dozen bait and started throwing gulps and they kept catching fish. On the way back we made a few stops and picked up a keeper red for everyone. Thanks guys for a great day and look forward to seeing you back in October.

Great day on the water, wind 15 + mph so we couldn’t get out to deep water areas that had been producing fish, so we fished San Jose Island and Mud Island area for trout along the drops and grass beds. We managed a few trout up to 22 1/2″, most of them were in the 17” range and good solid fish. Made a couple of stops for redfish and picked up a few 19” on cut skipjack, but the 22 1/2” made Shelly’s day. We loaded up by noon.

We don’t get day like this very often, days when 4 out 5 cast catches fish. Fishing deep water shell with pigs, yesterday the fish were down deep, nearly on the bottom, but today they were way up in the water. Caught lot of dink specks and small sand trout, but keep 10 specks, 45 sands 12 – 16”, and 2 gafftops over 4 #, and were back by 11 am. The morning started out with lighting moving in from offshore so we took our time to see what was going to happen, left a little late and then ran into showers, so we turned around and fish the flats for a while for trout. Picking up a nice 18” and a few dinks, the showers cleared off and we head back to the deep water where we found the fish hungry. Wished day like this happened more often, but maybe the bite will last a few more days.

We ( 2 friends from San Antonio area) and I ran out Wednesday morning and caught a nice box of fish and were back by 11 am, before the heat got unbearable. We had 14 specks, 4 large gaftops, and 16 sandies over 12”.
All fish were caught on pigs in deep water over shell. Sorry no pictures. Not a fast bite but steady enough to make it fun.

Fishing was tough, but we hammered a few nice fish and had a great time on the water. The trout bite was slow, even with catching little fish, we just couldn’t get the bite going. We managed lots of sand trout, but they were even smaller than usual. Lost a nice upper slot red at the boat and managed 2 nice keeper reds. The boys and dad worked hard for their supper today, but we had a great time. Wind died for 2-3 hours and boy was it hot, when the wind picked up the clouds moved in making it tough to find sand pockets and drop offs. Thanks guys for a great time on the water.

What a morning, took my wife (Shelly) and a friend out and it has been a while since she went fishing. It has been so long she was excited and couldn’t go to sleep last night, but she still can fish. We had 10 specks, 52 nice size sand trout, and 2 large gaff tops and had the boat on the trailer just after 9 am. The fish cleaned and boat washed by 10.30, so maybe I can get a nap for a couple of hours, before we have a fish fry this afternoon.
Come on down the fishing is good.

A great day on the water, windy blew at night making bay a little rough early, but wind settled down and made a great day on the water. We caught trout and sandies, so no pictures. Thanks guys for a great time and have a safe trip back to Dallas.

What a great day on the water with a great group of guys. They caught lot of undersized trout and sandies to keep them busy all day. Weather was great, not to hot and not to windy. Enjoy the rest of your time off and looking forward to doing it again.

This was one of those day you want lots of, we had 29 trout by 9 am and spent the rest of the day looking for the last trout and some keeper reds. We found small reds, but finally found some keeper. Thanks folks for a great time on the water.

We had a great time with guys from Houston and Canada. They ( the guys from Canada) didn’t want to take fish home so we only keep the deep hooked fish. Thanks for a great time and look to doing this again.
