I got to spend the last 3 mornings duck hunting, first 2 days with a client from San Antonio and last day with a friend from Corpus Christi. The first morning started out cold and this morning was in low 50's, but we have had a lack of wind. Thousands of ducks rafted all around us but nothing to get them up. We had some shots, but haven't been burning up shells like I had hoped. Water is lower than usual and super clear, spent an hour chasing (wade fishing) reds today, it all started with a duck down way out, so I thought I might as well fish since I had a long hike, but couldn't get them to take anything. But it was fun seeing them any way.
Duck season ends Jan 29.
